One Step Update Stalls 90 seconds Before Prompting For Password Vault
In the last few weeks, I am seeing a different One Step Update issues than others in the chats. My Update process appears to hang for like 90 seconds before asking for the Password for the Password Vault. Once I enter the vault password, all is OK. My gut is it looks like it is awaiting a response from something, doesnt get it, times out and then goes to the Password Prompt
To assure the Password Vault access process isnt the issue, I am able to immediately pull up the PV prompt when I click to access from the Tools menu … (like it used to right away during one Step Update)
As a potential precaution, ran Data Validate and repair (simple and deep) but as expected no impact
All works but the delay is VERY annoying. Would value any suggestions

Hello @Whojammers,
I know that you mentioned running the validation process, however, I would like to provide the instructions for a full validate/super-validate process. However, I do recommend that you first save a backup file prior to performing these steps.
Validate:
- File
- Validate and Repair File...
- Validate File
- Click OK
- Close the Data Log
- Close Quicken (leave it closed for at least 5 secs)
- Reopen Quicken and see if the issue persists.
If the issue persists, proceed to Super Validate. If the issue is resolved after performing validation, then please disregard the instructions to Super Validate.
Super Validate:- File
- Hold CTRL + Shift and click Validate and Repair File...
- Super Validate File
- Click OK
- Close the Data Log
- Close Quicken (leave it closed for at least 5 secs)
- Reopen Quicken and see if the issue persists.
I hope this helps!

Quicken Jasmine - Appreciate the suggestions. Apologies for the delayed follow-up. I ran both as suggested. No errors were noted. Unfortunately, the issue remains
Still waiting 90+ seconds for my password prompt to return after I select One Step Update.
Any other thoughts? Do I need to reload the software after a backup - worst case?

Hello @Whojammers,
Thank you for getting back to me although I do apologize that those troubleshooting steps did not assist us in reaching a resolution.
Have you tried uninstalling/reinstalling Quicken? Please refer to the following support articles for instructions on uninstalling here and reinstalling here.
Please let me know how this goes!

Unfortunately, a re-install did not solve the issue. Still experienced the 90+ second wait for a password after selecting One-Step Update. Any thoughts?

I found the root cause in an unexpected place: my PCs' VPN.
The One Step Update hang (waiting 90 seconds for the password prompt) occurs when my VPN (SurfShark) is active. If I disable the VPN, the password prompt occurs normally (withing a couple seconds).
The strange part is that the VPN wasnt an issue months back before this occurred. An update to the VPN at some point is the most likely root cause.
I appreciate your assistance.
