Quicken launches but stays "blank" except the menu field

I've been using quicken for over 10 years, this is the first experience of this issue. It crashed on me a few times yesterday, but today when I try to open it, it will not fully load. I uninstalled, rebooted, reinstalled. It told me I had to delete the quicken folder in my programs folder and reinstall. I did that and it installed successfully. Rebooted again. Same blank screen. I tried to call support and received a busy signal. Does anyone happen to have any ideas for me? Thank you!

    Hello @hethyrf,

Could you please provide a screenshot of the blank screen you are seeing? If needed please refer to this Community FAQ for instructions on how to attach a screenshot. Alternatively, you can also drag and drop screenshots to your response if you are not given the option to add attachments.

    Thank you!

Screen shot. I have re-installed Quicken Classic for Windows multiple times, rebooted multiple times. still gets stuck on this screen and just hangs. The last time I was able to use quicken was Friday, June 14. quicken did an update to R56.9.

@Petals79 This is quite odd that the specific Q product isn't shown after the word Quicken in the title bar. This could indicate a file that's irreparably corrupted and can't be opened.

Hoping that you've got a recent backup, you might try using Windows to change the name of that backup to end in .QDF (removing any -backup and/or date & time info) and then clicking on the newly renamed file to open it. If that works, you'll need to re-input/download everything since the backup was created … but at least you'll have a functioning file.

Change the name of the current file first, to avoid Win conflicts of duplicate names.

@NotACPA Thanks for the tip. I did have a recent backup and did as you suggested and Quicken finally opened successfully! I so appreciate your help!!

Thank you! I kept troubleshooting and did find that my file was corrupted the previous day when it crashed, although I had been able to get back into the file after the crash (I was adding a new account when it crashed). I reinstalled everything, and then restored a backup. Found other issues while doing that and started another relevant thread for that issue, which so far is putting me into a circular issue that doesn't seem resolvable. I appreciate you responding and sorry I didn't get back sooner!

I am extremely happy that this helped someone else, too! Thank you!
