Telerik.Windows.Data.dll Unsigned Files Blocked by Microsoft Smart App Control

Quicken Windows Other Member

Hi Quicken Support Team,

We're part of the Microsoft team that owns Smart App Control, which requires applications to sign all of their executable files (exe, dll, msi, tmp, and a few other file formats).

We found during internal testing and/or from user feedback that your app, Telerik.Windows.Data.dll, is not signed by a Microsoft-trusted certificate.

Signing your app is in your best interest, as it positively identifies you as the developer of your application to your customers installing and running your apps, and they can rest assured that your app hasn't been tampered with. For the purposes of Smart App Control, all app binaries including .exe, .dll, .tmp files, and uninstallers all need to be signed.

Please reach out to us via email so we may continue this conversation and provide support. Essentially, we're looking for confirmation the unsigned file, and any other unsigned executables, will be signed in this or a future build.

Thanks,

Rolland Swing

they have already posted on this - and the mods removed the discussion…

The whole TELERIK issue was also covered

Given that this is a third-party GUI library, I'm not sure they can sign it, the original owners have to do it. But I also notice that it says it is a few years old, so it is possible that can't even be arranged.

there was an entire thread in the topic wgeee you can look at the Windows properties and see that none of these DLL modules had a digital signature.
