Charles Schwab One Step Update works for a couple of days and quits downloading transactions

I have 5 investment accounts with Schwab. It works for a couple of days and then no longer downloads the transactions.

To get it to work:

I have found that I have to deactivate all 5 accounts.

I select 1 account and setup Online Services. It consistently does not find all of the accounts. I cancel and start the process again and it does find all 5 accounts. I then have to fix at least one of the matches. When I press the link drop down, it already knows which account it should match to.

This the

Version R57.16 Build 27.1.57.16

Windows 11.

n works for another a couple of days and then I have to repeat this process.

    Hello @Bill44,

    To assist with this issue, please provide more information. When it stops downloading, do you get any error messages? Is there anything that seems to trigger this issue? Do you track your Schwab accounts in more than one Quicken file?

    Also, please be aware that missing transactions/transactions not downloading from Schwab is a known issue. It is possible that the issue you're encountering is being caused by the known issue. I recommend reviewing this Community Alert for more information, and bookmarking the Community Alert to get notified of any updates, once available.

    I only have 1 Quicken file.

    It quits downloading any transactions. There is never an error message. Today it only downloaded the transaction for 1 of the 5 accounts.

    There was a dividend transaction in each of the accounts. Once this happens it will no longer download transactions until I Deactivate/Active all of the accounts.

    I am going to reset them now to get the rest of the transactions for the other accounts.

    To clarify, are you saying that they stop downloading when there is a dividend transaction and won't start downloading again until they're deactivated/reactivated?

    No, I am not saying that. It was just what was downloading yesterday. It does not seem to matter what is downloading. Today the download worked, it was a CD Interest payment, Tomorrow (Thursday) I will let you know if it works and the type of transactions.

    From prior experience once it quits downloading nothing downloads, The only way I have been able to get it working again is the deactivated/reactivated.

    I will let you know each day what downloads and when it quits working.

    Today (Thursday) downloaded 1 account out of 4 that had transactions. The transactions are a mix of interest and dividend.

    This is not the same account as last time that received the transactions. I think it is the one that I used to do the reactivate.

    Should I deactivated/reactivate or ?

    10:15 CDT. My wife did her part in Quicken and ran the update and the rest of transactions for the other accounts just downloaded.

    I don't think this has happened before. That is, the transactions every showing up.

    I'll let you know tomorrow on the downloads.

    (Friday) I waited until 10:30 CDT and all of the transactions.

    Something still seems off. Three times I have had to enter older transactions that never downloaded.. I will keep up with the later download times and see if this solves it. I will keep you updated,

    The expected transactions downloaded today @ 11:00 AM CDE. There is still one more possibility of what is causing the issue. I have API access to Schwab. It may be related to getting a new Refresh Token. I haven't done this while we have been trying to figure why the transactions quit downloading. When I have to get the new Refresh Token I will update and let you know if all is ok. if it ends up just having to wait until after 10:30 AM, I can live with it.

    I have let the Token expire and have renewed it prior to expiring and the downloads are still working.

    The only this at this point that is being down differently is always doing the Schwab download 10:30 AM or after.

    I'm going to stick to the later morning download for Schwab. It's working and I can live with it.

    The downloads quit working yesterday. They also did not download anything today.

    I refreshed my token on 7/23/2024 around 9 AM and did the download later in the day (after market close) on the 23rd.

    As I have commented I have refreshed my token, and it has worked the next day.

    Why Downloading around 3:10 CST would cause this.

    This has been the longest time period that it has worked.

    I will wait until tomorrow after 10 AM CST to try it again and if it doesn't work reset the online update for Schwab.

    If you have any ideas of what I can do/change I can give it a try before resetting.

    I just ran the one step update and on the 3rd day it actually worked. All of the transactions since it quit working downloaded and updated just fine.

    Not sure what conclusion I can draw from this. I know I changed nothing, so it leaves Schwab or Quicken. Something is definitely happening behind the scenes. At least it worked.

    Today 8/8 2 of 5 of my accounts downloaded transactions. One of the accounts that did not download had buy transactions created at the same time as 1 of the 2 that did download.

    3 hours later, they did download. As I said the bulk of the transactions all happened within seconds of each other.

    At least they did download without me resetting the online access.
