Using R57.16. During this morning's OSU the message below popped up over the OSU Progress window. The file referenced in the message was not created. There is no evidence of it on my system.

Just double-checking. Your file SHOULD end in ".QDF-backup". Perhaps you're not displaying file extensions … but I wanted to make sure that it's really there.

Can you do a Windows search for files that end in .QDF-backup?

Automatic Backup files, when enabled, by default go to a \Backup folder that's a subfolder of the folder which contains your current Quicken data file, e.g. …\Documents\Quicken\Backup.
They do not go to the location defined for your Manual Backups.

I've had this Automatic Backup message popup immediately after starting Quicken. I'm not sure if that's an intended change of behavior, but I don't mind having extra backups.

Review your Edit / Preferences / Backup to verify your settings.
There may be a bug in R 57.16 which has incorrectly modified your desired backup settings.
Ensure that the number specified in "… running Quicken [xx] times" is a number in the range of 1 - 99, not 0.

Wild guess. They do create an automatic backup when they do update to a new version. That might be what happened.
