One step update new account
I have taken an account that I have been monitoring manually and tried adding it to online banking. I have been using one step update with all my other accounts for awhile. I follow the procedures directed by Q. After syncing it tells me it has downloaded 600 transaction. Also my starting balance is changed and all my deposits now show up as withdrawals, and my withdrawals show up as deposits. I do backup often so it is easy to return to the previous data version. Any idea what is happening

Hello @JerryG,
To help troubleshoot this issue, please provide additional information. Which financial institution is this account with? What type of account is it (checking, savings, credit, investment, etc.)? Does the account type in Quicken match the account type with the financial institution?
I look forward to your reply!

Hey JerryG: As Quicken Kristina mentioned, it helps to know the additional information, plus what Quicken Version you use, etc. I had a similar problem few years back. Never could get one account I was monitoring manual for years to convert properly to accept online downloads. It caused problems as you mentioned (though it didn't download 600 transactions); more like only "100" transactions🤣 I finally got feed up with trying to figure all the junk out; I just obliterated all my file at Quicken and created a brand new file with all my accounts fresh (though with only 3 months of transactions in all accounts). That worked out fine, but of course I lost about 4 years of past account information since for some unknow reason couldn't get my backup file to download ANY accounts. I DO NOT RECOMMEND you do that though, unless you just can't find a solution. Good luck to ya.

Q version R57.16 Build 27.1.57.16 Credit to credit at Chase. I have no idea but this time it worked with only a few modification required. All credits were credits and all debits were debits, BUT it did change my starting balance and had 8 items dating back to 2022 shown as new. I deleted them changed to starting balance back to the correct amount, backed up my data, then ran onestep update, and everything looks good now. Fingers crossed.

JerryG: Wow, way to go👍️ Wish I could have figured a way to get my old manual account to download updates properly. Anyway, hopefully this holds for you and all smooth sailing from here on out!
