QuickUserPSP - New User ID Suggestion

A note to QuickUserPSP (and anyone else having serious CC-503/CC-929 bank connectivity issues)…

I have been experiencing CC-503/CC-929 issues on two of the three datasets that I manage. I tried every cut/paste solution offered by the Quicken folks who frequent this site to no avail. I called CS but, after placing me on hold, they dropped the call. I reached the point of actually considering transferring money to new bank accounts to avoid the problem…until I realized that it was likely that the "new" accounts would eventually encounter connectivity errors too.

Then, I ran across a post from QuickUserPSP where he/she stated "The only way that you are going to fix these CC-503 errors on all of your accounts using EWC is to create a new Quicken ID and have Customer Support transfer your subscription to the new Quicken ID".

Intrigued, I created a new Quicken ID. Given that it is the weekend (and nobody is working at Quicken Support), it was not possible to have CS transfer the subscription. However, I had an activation code on hand that I had planned to use in January 2025 on my old User ID when my current subscription expired. I used that code to activate the new User ID (yes, I now have two active subscriptions).

Long and short, I logged in with new new User ID, loaded the two affected datasets…and was able to successfully connect.

I plan to call CS tomorrow and have them transfer the remaining balance of the subscription on the old User ID - hopefully they will be agreeable.

I am not a techie so I have no idea why this worked…I just know that it worked for me. I hope that by posting this, someone else may be able to resolve their CC-503/CC-929 issues.

My thanks to QuickUserPSP!

    As an addendum…

    • Quicken Support did consolidate my activation codes this morning - I am good until January 2026 (thank you Jose).
    • During the previous call with Quicken Support, I was told that changing my User ID would not fix the problem. Spoiler alert…It did fix the problem.

So far, creating the new Quicken ID has restored access to all my downloads, even though customer service said it was unrelated. I have reset almost all of my accounts (I have a lot of them) and should be finished tomorrow. The couple I have left are PayPal and Wells Fargo. (The PayPal has always been problematic so I have save it for last.) I did get a couple communication errors when I first started, but I now believe those were more related to trying to set up some accounts later at night instead of during regular business hours.

I am glad to hear that this seems to be working for you (as it did for me). I too had to reset my credit card and bank accounts…a small price to pay IMO in exchange for restoring connectivity.

As an aside, I violated rule #1 this morning - "If it ain't broke, don't fix it". I foolishly installed the new release R56.9 over R57.26 (which had been working). As you can guess, the OSU under R56.9 blew up. I believe that nothing updated except for one brokerage house. When I went to reset one of the banks, I received a CC-501 error.

Fortunately, I was able to "downgrade" back to R57.26 and everything seems to be working again.

Going forward, I will test ALL new releases on my laptop prior to upgrading on my main desktop computer. To say that this software is "fragile" is an understatement.

Albert, I noted that you posted about sourcing your new ID under a different thread.

To simplify things, I suggest that we both just use this thread going forward…actually wouldn't mind going offline and discussing privately via email. If you are in agreement, we'll figure out a way to exchange addresses.

On the user ID, I generally buy them on eBay (cheaper). But given your circumstances, I could see how buying direct (with the 30-day return option) would make the most sense.

john@113 i have gotten burned on ebay a couple times with bootleg stuff so I usually stick to company sources. I could have saved $10 going through Staples, but amazon and a few others were the same as Quicken online (and, of course, not returnable). I posted on three different threads because i don't know who might find which thread if they are searching for answers like we were. albertd is one of my emails. I have an account on the old roadrunner domain for central florida cfl
