Prevent locking loan transaction splits? (Q Mac)

Is there a way to have Quicken stop locking loan transaction splits?

If there needs to be an adjustment based on bank statements (and there is 99% of the time), I end up having to create a whole new transaction and manually re-enter everything just to change amounts… incredibly time consuming (and unnecessary, IMO).

To assist with this issue, please provide more information. When did you first notice this behavior? What kind of loan are you seeing this happen with (auto, mortgage, other, etc.)? Is this happening in bill reminders, in transactions that have been entered into your register, or both? Are you seeing this happen with transactions downloaded from your financial institution, or with manual transactions?
