Conversion from Windows to Mac Data Transfer Problem
I am moving from Quicken Classic Subscription on Windows to Mac. I have a significant problem when I move my QDF to the Mac version. I have completed the process four times and cannot get my whole historic data file transferred successfully. I believe I have found a bug in the file size or transaction limit size. Two times I dutifully followed instructions using QDF back-up files to and each time the process after using the Quicken Cloud converter created 45968 transactions and restored them which resulted in only loading my historic data to 2017. I contacted Quicken AI chat which was a waste of time as the bot simply spit out the previously provided support steps. I then attempted live chat which led me through the same process to the same result. When I reported the result back to the agent, I was told that because of OS differences between Mac and Windows my transactions could not be recovered after 2017 because MAC OS couldn't convert those transactions. I believed this to be in error as if it was true, the quicken world would be aflame with complaints about how can't I convert recent windows files to Mac. Because my fallback to reinstalling my entire history (1996-present) was to install my recent history to test the ridiculousness of the agent's claim, I create a custom file copy in windows dating from 2018 to present. When I followed the process with that file of "post 2017" data, I was able to restore approximately 42000 transactions from 2018 on along with all transfer transactions for the entire history of my quicken file. All account balances were correct. I suspect the problem is a limit to the size of files or number of transactions that the converter will process during the quicken cloud upload, conversion, and download process. If anyone has an experience with this or if quicken support could comment on a solution that would allow me to recover my entire history (which appears to be about 2X the size of what I've been able to do so far), please let me know.

Hello @Windows to Mac Guy,
To answer your question, I'm not aware of any restriction on converting transactions that date back to 2017 (or older), provided that they're in a current version of Quicken. We also don't have anything in our documentation specifying any limit on file size or number of transactions that can be converted.
Considering that it worked when you truncated your file, but refused to work when you did the full file, perhaps it would work if you break the Windows file into smaller pieces, then import it one block at a time? Warning: Please make sure to backup your Quicken for Mac file prior to importing new information. When I tested, you can import a Quicken Windows QXF file. However, since it would see that you're importing a file with accounts that are already in your current file, it would create new accounts when it imports, so it will require work to get everything moved to the correct accounts and make sure balances are correct.
I hope this helps!
Quicken Kristina
