Quicken suddenly getting into my bank's bill pay and I'm afraid it will cancel it
I do not want Quicken to be involved in my bill pay. I've had the same account for 25 years, I've been using Quicken for about the same time.
It started with having the envelope about tasks to send. I tried disconnecting the online account and reconnecting. It downloaded future bill payments. I don't want them downloaded; I have a Reminder for it. I tried to Delete in Quicken but it said I have to Cancel. I don't want to Cancel the payment -- that's an important bill that is due. I just don't want Quickem to download future bills. How do I resolve this? Bank is First Horizon Bank.

Hello @MintUserNew,
Based on your description of the issue, it sounds like you are connected to that account via Direct Connect, which gives Quicken the ability to see bank bill pay transactions and send instructions to the financial institution. To disable that functionality, please backup your Quicken file first, then go to Tools>Account List, and click the Edit button next to the problem account. Click on the Online Services tab. Near the bottom of that window, you should see an Online bill payment section.
Deactivating the Bank Bill Pay will prevent Quicken from sending bill pay related instructions to your financial institution. It should not have any impact on any payments you already have scheduled with your financial institution.
Alternatively, if the financial institution offers it, you can also backup your Quicken file and change the connection method from Direct Connect to Express Web Connect. To do this, you would want to deactivate the problem account. Then, go to Tools>Add Account and search for your financial institution. If you have the option to choose between multiple connection methods, you should see an Advanced Options link (see sample image below).
Click on Advanced Options, and when you get to the screen that lets you select the connection, make sure Express Web Connect is selected.
Follow the prompts and make sure to carefully re-link the account with the existing account in your Quicken. Note: Some financial institutions charge you a fee for connecting via Direct Connect. If you are no longer using Direct Connect, please make sure to notify your financial institution.
I hope this helps!
