Problem adding an ETF security

Quicken Canada Subscription Member ✭✭

Hi.

I'm using Quicken Classic Deluxe Canada on a Windows 10 PC.

I cannot add an ETF named iShares Core Equity ETF with the ticker symbol XEQT. In the Add Security window, I have tried entering the ticker or the ETF name without success, I even added the prefix 'TSE:' as it is traded on the Toronto Stock Exchange, but it still doesn't work.

Does anyone have an idea why?

Thanks. Jacques

    Hello @deschenesjac,

When I test in my Quicken, I'm able to find and add it, but it requires doing something a bit unintuitive. First, go to Tools>Security List and click the Add Security button. Search for XEQT; it won't find the security you want, but you'll be able to click the ETFs tab. Then, replace XEQT with iShares Core Equity in the search box, and it should find it.

    I hope this helps!

    Hi Quicken Kristina,

Thanks for your answer, your suggestion worked fine, but unintuitive. I would have never figured it out by myself.

Thanks for your expertise, have a nice day. Jacques

    Thank you for the follow-up,

I'm glad to hear you were able to add that security!

I reported the unintuitive process to the proper channels for further investigation. While we do not have an ETA, hopefully the process will be made more intuitive as part of a future release.

    Thank you!
