Deleting Damaged Transaction
I have an issue on an account that has 24 years of data (42,224 transactions). I'm currently running version R58.9, Windows 10 Pro version 22H2, OS build 19045.4651
Apparently there was a failure with a QuickPay transaction that says it's been "Processing" since 04/15/24. (Today is 08/10/24).
I can’t just ignore it by marking it cleared or reconciled.
The message is…
“Can’t modify this transaction, because it has been damaged. Please delete it and create a new one.”
I can’t delete it.
The complaint is…
“This payment’s status does not allow it to be deleted. Would you like to view the payment information and available actions?
”It offers “Yes” or “No”, but neither does anything.
I saw another thread suggesting that I copy the 42,223 transactions to a new account just to leave the one behind.
Do the dev's have a better answer than this?
(There's another similar thread from Feb 2023 (a year and a half ago) that got closed with no realistic resolution. What's up with that?)

Hello @dantarbill,
To start with, I suggest that you please try validating and/or super validating your data file. However, I do recommend that you first save a backup file prior to performing these steps.
Validate:
- File
- Validate and Repair File...
- Validate File
- Click OK
- Close the Data Log
- Close Quicken (leave it closed for at least 5 secs)
- Reopen Quicken and see if the issue persists.
If the issue persists, proceed to Super Validate. If the issue is resolved after performing validation, then please disregard the instructions to Super Validate.Super Validate:
- File
- Hold CTRL + Shift and click Validate and Repair File...
- Super Validate File
- Click OK
- Close the Data Log
- Close Quicken (leave it closed for at least 5 secs)
- Reopen Quicken and see if the issue persists.
I hope this helps!
