Multi-factor Authentication screen freeze

I'm using Quicken Classic Version 7.9.0 (Build 709.54447.100) for MAC. Every time I want to have Quicken update my accounts, I am asked to supply a phone number to have the MFA code sent. Once Quicken gets my FI to send me the MFA "code", I am required to enter the code. Once the code is entered, Quicken freezes until my financial Institution is contacted and Quicken is allowed to access and retrieve my account information. Sometimes that takes as long as 5 minutes.
It would be nice if that MFA worked in the background so I can continue working on other accounts
