Transactions overwriting when changing categories
This started with a recent update. After performing a One Step Update to download transactions I then go in to change the Category of a transaction. When I hit "enter" it changes the line item I am working on and then overwrites the line immediately below it to a copy of what I just entered. So now I have 2 of the same transaction and I lost whatever was on the line below it. I can't update that one without it changing the first. Its like Quicken now things both transactions are the same line item. For example: Domino's was in the wrong category so I want to change it to "Dining Out".
When I hit enter this happens:
It now thinks those 2 lines are the same thing. Even though the name was different, the dollar amounts were different, there was no connection between the two transactions as downloaded from the Web Connect. If I try to change the 2nd transaction back it changes them both.
This has happened multiple times and all I can do is delete the transaction then go to the website and try to find out what was lost and enter it as a manual transaction.
Using Quicken Classic R58.9 on a Windows PC.

Not sure if this is relevant or not, but it appears that you're allowing downloads to show up directly in the register? If that's the case then the first thing I might try is to turn off automatic entry and simply let downloads show up in the Downloaded Transactions window and accept them one at a time to see if that works.
If you believe it's the update that's causing the issue then rolling back to the prior version should prove that, one way or the other. This site is maintained by another Quicken SuperUser:
