PC to Mac - will I lose historical data?

I've been using Quicken since 1998 and have lots of historical data.

Can I switch PC to Mac without losing any data? I use Quicken only on a very basic level of personal checking, savings and credit cards. No investment tracking.

What's your advice? thanks.

    All the aforementioned transactional data will transfer over. Note that if you have a subscription, you have free access to the Mac software, so can give it a try and see for yourself with no risk, since your original data will not be affected.

    Here's an article on converting Windows to Mac Quicken

    I'm staying on Quicken 2013 Premier for Windows.

    One big caution with this article is that it contains links to more articles and FAQs that are way out of date, pointing to a lot of lost data when converting from QMac to QWin. Although still far from perfect, significant work has been done to be able to move back, especially when it comes to bringing back investment data (I know it is not applicable here, as per the OP).

    I am a Quicken windows user since 2000 with thousands of transactions including stock and option trades. I transferred to Quicken for Mac two weeks ago. I am simultaneously using both platforms to make sure the transition is with least amount of risk. 99.9% of data transitioned correctly. All the accounts and sidebar matched the windows version. The mac is missing few features, like Growth of 10k, Cap Gains grouped by date, limited Find/Replace, tax estimating, etc. But i am happy that I switched as the Mac is much faster due to a better SQL database engine and the interface is modern. I hated it the 1st few days, but I am liking it a lot more that Windows version now. I will keep using both until the end of the year then only use the Mac version.

    Quicken Windows 2000-2024

    Successfully moved to Mac with thousands of transactions and stock/option trades. Quicken Mac handles large files a lot faster.

    @qcknuser
    how many Quicken Windows data files do you have?

    1. Just one current data file which contains all the history over the years
    2. More than one data file. In the past, I split the data file in two parts, history of past years in an archive file, current transactions in another file.

    If your answer is (2), please do not forget to also convert the archive file(s) to the Mac as separate Mac data files. You don't want to leave your history behind on the PC.
