Importing .csv file and the last security is never read/updated unless I edit the csv first
For a long time now and ongoing, when I import a csv downloaded from yahoo finance, Quicken (Windows, Classic subscription now R58.14) ignores the last security. If I edit almost anything in the file (ie delete a line or column, clear a cell, or add a phantom last security) first, Quicken will read the entire file.
Since I have reported it multiple times through the black hole called 'report a problem' but cannot give them the .csv with the problem report, can anyone provide an insight into a) what is happening, and b)how to actually engage the staff at Quicken?

If editing the file cures the issue, it sounds like the downloaded .CSV file has a problem with how the end of file is being marked.
Have you tried using a different browser to do the download and see if it exhibits the same issue?

Good thought but using Firefox and Edge the downloads are bit for bit the same (using FC), and thus as expected Quicken has the same error with each. It could be yahoo? Excel does not have a problem with the file. I'll make a test portfolio and see how that goes when there is new data on the morrow.

@BBG Why can't you send the CSV to Support? Files are sent to them frequently. And a CSV is really just a text file.

To get the last entry in the CSV file to import, it must be followed by a carriage return.

I have never tried taking a csv file from Yahoo straight to Quicken. I assume you are importing prices, correct?
Along the lines others have offered, I suspect simply opening and saving the file with Notepad or Excel would suffice, if all the other data was there. I have always restructured the file adding in the ticker as a minimum for importing historical prices.

I guess I do not know how. If I send it as a text file that is not exactly what Quicken is importing so I assumed rightly or wrongly it would not reveal the problem.
That is the problem. Thanks so much. The yahoo download is ending with 0x2C
Cheers,

@BBG, glad that you discovered the cause of the issue. BUT Q is actually importing a text file. EVERY CSV file is actually text, it just doesn't have a TXT suffix, and doesn't need such to BE a text file.
Open the file with NotePad or WordPad to see for your self.
