What is going on with quicken??? Erratic, problematic, dysfunctional...
I had noticed a slowing down of quicken, but last week it froze entirely. The program would barely open, then totally freeze on one-step update. I would have to force quit it to close it. I tried troubleshooting: uninstall, reinstall. Check my network connection. Etc. Etc. Blah, blah, blah. Did it all, several times. Finally, desperate, I called several times and the customer service reps were pleasant, hard to understand, and unable to help me at all.
My financial life is rather too dependent on quicken, I realize. Because this has paralyzed my daily activities.
Luckily, I have quicken on my laptop, so I took it elsewhere, using a different network. That was fine, so clearly the problem was with my windows computer, right? Or my home network? Wrong!
Frustrated, I had left it alone for a couple of days. The laptop, while too small for regular daily use is fine in a pinch.
This morning, I thought I'd give it another shot on the desktop. So I clicked on Quicken, preparing for disappointment. Surprise! it opened quickly, and one-step update did not hang.
Now, the laptop version of Quicken is doing exactly what the computer version was doing until this morning, except the laptop quicken won't even open. Just hangs and then I click on it and Windows tells me the program has stopped responding.
So, is there some new rule that a customer can only have one functioning copy of quicken? Would have been nice it they would have told me that.

Hello @Xandra,
Are you opening this Quicken file between your laptop and desktop using a cloud-based storage or are you physically transferring your Quicken file between devices before use? If you are physically moving the file, are you attempting to open it from the removable drive or are you moving the file to your C drive before opening the file?
Let me know!
