Old error resurfaces - Did you mistype your sign-in info? Discover & Ally Bank [Edited]

I have been using Quicken for Windows, then Mac for over a decade. Unfortunately, I'm about ready to give up on this software.

It has been almost a year since I've been able to download any transactions from Discover. I disconnected the account and tried to reconnect it, and I get the error message "Did you mistype your sign-in info? Please re-enter your credentials …". I'm 100% certain I have typed my credentials correctly. I tried creating a new account and link it to Discover Bank, and same error. I tried creating a whole new Quicken file and creating and linking a Discover account, still get same error.

Now I'm getting the same error when trying to link some new Ally accounts. I know the Ally website is allowing linking because I have existing accounts that are syncing just fine. But when I try to setup new Ally accounts to download, I get the stupid "Did you mistype the credentials" error. I read on this board that one person solved the issue by unlinking all Quicken accounts associated with that Bank and then trying to link one. I tried that and now none of my Ally accounts are downloading transactions because I keep getting the same error.

Does anyone have any idea how to solve this problem?

    Hello @SRT,

    To troubleshoot this issue, please make sure that you can login to the accounts directly through the financial institution website (doing this confirms that the accounts aren't locked from too many unsuccessful login attempts), backup your Quicken file, then follow these steps from this article on error FDP-103 (Did you mistype your sign-in info):

    First, deactivate all the accounts with the affected financial institution

    1. Open Quicken.
    2. Go to the Accounts menu and choose Hide and Show Accounts;
    3. Uncheck any accounts with this specific financial institution (FI) that are hidden in Lists;
    4. When complete, click on the account name for your account(s) in the Accounts toolbar in Quicken.
    5. Click the Settings icon in the bottom right corner of the screen.
    6. Select the Downloads tab.
    7. Click on Disconnect Account.
    8. Click Done. Do this on each account with this FI.
    9. Quit Quicken.

    Second, delete Quicken passwords from the Keychain

    1. Open Finder and go to Applications > Utilities > Keychain Access app;
    2. On the left panel in the Keychain app, set the Keychains to Login and the Category to Passwords.
    3. Find and delete any entries that show Quicken or Quicken Connect and this FI name;
    4. Quit the Keychain Access app and open Quicken.

    Third, re-add the accounts

    1. Go to Accounts > Add Account.
    2. Type the name of the financial institution and make the appropriate selection.
    3. Enter your login credentials and click Continue.
    4. When Quicken has returned all accounts discovered for this FI, very carefully LINK each of the found accounts to the appropriate account you already have setup in Quicken.

    If the issue persists

    If the steps above do not resolve the issue, please contact Quicken Support

    I hope this helps!
