Is there a way to reduce the font size in the budget function? (Q Mac)
Unfortunately my categories are deprecated (see snapshot below) and I have not found a way to properly display them. Thanks

@vnakul No, there is no way to change the font size — or widen the column width — on the 1-month budget screen. (You can see a previous discussion about this here.)
The single-month budget screen is one of the holdovers from the predecessor Quicken Essentials program from 2010 that served as the code base for the current Quicken Mac, before they developed the more comprehensive annual budget functionality in the current Quicken Mac in 2016. I don't think that one-month view screen has been touched over time.
In addition to the problem you have highlighted, the current screen doesn't format well for printing and can't be exported, so it's in need of being updated to match capabilities in other areas of the program. Several other often-requested enhancements to budget features are now marked as "Planned" in the Product Ideas section of this site. A former Quicken Mac product manager once explained that the budget code was particularly complicated, and it would require a significant re-write to add more features — so I suspect that's what they plan to do. There's no way to tell when these "Planned" budget improvements will be released, but based on the very limited clues we get, I'd guess it will be sometime next year.

Thanks for the quick response and detailed explanation. I hope this gets fixed at some point as it is one of the features Quicken advertises. In the meanwhile the annoying workaround is to use the mobile app.

While we're waiting for some improvement, how about abbreviating some of the category and subcategory names to make better use of the available space? For example, "Fixed Exp."
