Canada Life (The Canada Life Assurance Company, also called GRS Access)
Hello
I am having trouble adding my investments from Canada Life (GRS Access) to my Quicken account. I don't even see the institution as an option.
Any suggestions?

Hello @JDep,
If you're not seeing them in the list, then it's possible the financial institution isn't supported. If you provide the URL you use when logging into your accounts directly through the financial institution website, I can check our FIDIR (list of supported financial institutions) to see if they are supported.
If they're not supported, you would still be able to track your accounts manually. To add an account manually, in Quicken, you can either click the + sign or go to Accounts>Add Account…. Then, select the Offline Account option, choose the appropriate account type, and fill out the information to set up the account.
I look forward to your response!

Thank you for your reply,
It looks like the URL may have been blocked when you tried to post it?
I did a search online an came up with this URL:
Is that the correct URL? If it is, then unfortunately, it isn't on our list of supported financial institutions, and the only way to track accounts with them in Quicken would be manually.
If that is not the correct URL, then could you please try posting it again?
Thank you!

Thank you, Kristina. That is the correct URL, so I confirm that Canada Life is not a listed supported financial institution. Next question (and I tried but could not resolve it): Can I export the data from Canada Life for manual import to Quicken, or is manual entry the only option? If so, I see how to add accounts, but how do I manually allocate assets?
Thanks!
Jen

Thank you for your reply,
If the financial institution allows exports in the .QFX format, then you may be able to import transactions that way.
When you ask about manually allocating assets, are you asking how to get your holdings to reflect in your Quicken? If so, then you would likely need to use the Add Shares option to establish the opening balance of shares in your investment account(s). To do that, near the lower left corner of the register, you should see a + sign icon with the word "New".
Clicking on that will create a new line in your account register that you can fill out. The type will default to Buy, but you can click the dropdown to select a different option.
Adding shares will allow you to add holdings to your account without affecting the cash balance in the account.
You may find this help article useful for more information on investment accounts. Near the bottom of the article, the More investment topics section provides links to information on creating various transaction types, among other information.
If you are referring to creating an Asset Account, then I'd recommend reviewing this help article:
I hope this helps!
