Need more description downloaded on ApplePay Transactions

I can’t tell what they are because they’re too short. Have to go to the accounts themselves to see what they are.

@Jeff Engle You posted this question in a Quicken Mac forum, I asked a moderator to move it over to one of the Quicken Windows forums.

Sometimes a picture is worth a thousand words …
Can you show us what appears in your Quicken register on your PC / laptop? And what appears in your transactions view on the Apple Pay website?
Can you please capture one or more images of the parts of your Quicken window showing the issue, sensitive information blacked out as necessary to protect your privacy but annotated to describe the situation, and attach the image(s) here?

Please save images to files of file type PNG or JPG only. They're easier to work with than PDF files.

It's quite possible that this situation may have to be reported "upstairs" to the programmers for review.

The Grape example on top is the same vendor. The example on the bottom are different vendors. The 10/16 transaction is Paint Rock Coffee but it's truncated, I think… Maybe this isn't a Quicken issue but configuration in the point of sale systems. My wife is using Apple Pay most of the time now and it makes for some not so fun queries:)

    Thanks for the images.

The problem is the limited length of the Payee Name field. Add to that the fact that most often the Memo field does not contain any additional useful information.

To make more useful Payee Names based on what's being downloaded, you may have to create and use Renaming Rules to, e.g., create Payee Name = "Paint Rock Coffee" from downloaded data = "Aplpay Tst Paint".
Should the downloaded Memo text contain useful information, it can be used when creating a Renaming Rule. Quicken combines both downloaded Payee and Memo when considering what Payee Name to create.

As far as the "Aplpay Tst Paint" transaction is concerned, there are many restaurants using a POS system, hardware and software, supplied by a company named Toast. All their charge transactions use a "Tst" prefix in front of the restaurant name.
If ApplePay were to consider removing "Aplpay" from the Payee Name, this would leave a few more characters available for the actual merchant name. But you'd have to talk them into doing so yourself.
