One Step Update Moves Cursor When Completed

Window 11. Quicken Classic Deluxe R54.9 Build 27.1.54.9

This has been going on for quite some time, it's just that I find it more annoying now.

When I run One Step Update I usually go to another task while it is completing. When it is complete, the location of my cursor is suddenly changed from wherever it is to up in the top left corner of my screen. If I am typing at the time, this change in location might cause me to close a tab in my browser. Or some other strange thing might happen if I am working in, say, Excel. Mostly, it just means I have to move the mouse back to where I want it to be on the screen. Does this happen to anyone else, and why should Quicken have control over the cursor when I am not actually using it?

    Hello @W.N.M,

To assist with this, please provide more information. When did you first notice this? Could you provide more detail about the exact sequence of events from when you start One Step Update (OSU) in your Quicken to when your cursor is moved? Do you minimize Quicken while you're working in other programs? Does this happen only with Excel? If not, what other programs have you been using when your cursor moved? Did you have any other programs (that you weren't using at that moment) that were open and/or running in the background? If so, which programs?

I tried to replicate it in my Quicken by pulling up Notepad and typing in it while waiting for OSU to complete. The issue didn't happen for me. I was able to type uninterrupted, even when OSU finished and the summary window came up.

I look forward to your response!

This setting apparently causes the issue:

    Mouse Properties:

    Pointer Options:

Snap To: Automatically move pointer to the default button in a dialog box.

There is an archived post from 2017 that describes this issue:

Quicken user since Q1999. Currently using QW2017.

Thank you, mshiggins, that is the cause of the issue for me.
