Quicken Closes during One Step Update

For the past few months Quicken Classic for Windows has been closing during a one step update. Usually when i'm doing an update I perform other tasks, such as reading emails. In recent months when I'm ready to flip back to Quicken usually within two minutes Quicken has closed and the update has not been completed. This sequence happens more than half of the time. Until recent months this has never happened.

Any ideas? Has anyone else experienced this event?

Thanks

    Hello @acs2,

To start with, I suggest you try signing out of your data file completely and then signing back in to refresh the registration token for your Online Connected Services. However, I do recommend that you first save a backup file prior to performing these steps.

    1. Navigate to Edit
    2. Preferences...
    3. Quicken ID & Cloud accounts
    4. Click Sign in as a different user (or it might say Sign in using a different Quicken ID)
    5. Follow the prompts to Sign Out
    6. Sign back in using your Quicken ID (email) and password

Once that is done, see if the issue still continues to persist.

Let us know how it goes!

Ok. I've done that on my various Quicken files. I'll see if the issue disappears and let you know

    thx

I have the same problem but only sporadically. The update seems to take longer than normal, completes successfully and then Quicken just closes. When I restart everything looks good. I usually run one step update again just to be safe - and everything seems to be fine.

This sounds like a corrupted RAM issue. Does it happen if you restart your system right before launching OSU?

It does not appear to be anything around system restart as I only do that about once a week. I usually login to Quicken and run the update. The problem does not occur every time that I do this and when I start quicken a second time everything runs correctdly.
