Can you add Tags to any of the Business Reports (Q Mac)

I use Tags to provide additional specifics for my Business and I'd like to see Categories of spend and also by Tag within a Category. However the business reporting doesn't seem to offer any Reports that include Tags as a Column?

    Hello @checkyourmirrors,

Tags are visible in business reports, but they are not at the top level; you have to drill down to see them. For example, in a Business Profitability report, the top level doesn't show detailed transaction information, and there's no option to see tags.

To get to the transaction detail, you need to drill down. In the example from this report, you would expand Expenses, and click on 500.00 in order to see more detailed information.

Once you click on that, it should pull you to the transaction detail.

Note: The tags column is not visible by default. To make it visible, click on View > Columns….

    Then, select Tags.

Please note that you can also customize the reports to include only transactions with a specific tag or tags. To do that, go to Edit, click on the Tags tab, then select the appropriate options.

    I hope this helps!

Tags are extremely useful-I use them myself often.

No, you can't add a Tag column to the existing Business reports, but that is simply because of the type of report they are. (A Tag column wouldn't make sense.) You can filter the reports by Tags, however. That might be your underlying question.

You can also use the other reports with Tags as a column where its inclusion makes sense. And you can create reports for your business accounts which is what I think you want to do. (Just because a report isn't marked as "business" doesn't mean you can't use them for that. The other reports can work for both.)

Got it and thank you, although I do think adding Tags to a business report as an addition column would be helpful, and the Business reporting isn't on parity with the number/flexibility of non-business reports so I can only hope it gets more attention.

    Great.

I wouldn't think of the other reports as being "non-business"-they are intended for both purposes.

The ones marked as "Business" simply are ones that wouldn't have any place for personal accounts.

The reason I say it that way is the "non-business" reports don't let me select which business I want to run them by. I have a single "Chart of Accounts" which I use for two business plus sometimes I put a business charge onto different cards, meaning we aren't segmented exclusive by each business. So if I want to see transactions by Payee for example, I can't run that for a single business since I can't select which Business I want to see the transactions for. Only the Business Reports do that which there aren't as many possible reports to run.

I am sure there is a case to be made that I should setup/run my business differently however I would prefer to have QW have the flexible to let me choose.
