Report that shows cash and money market fund totals

I would like to create a report that shows cash and money market fund totals. That seems like a simple customization of the account balances report, where I only include money market funds and "No Security (includes Cash)" on the Securities tab. However, the numbers come out incorrectly. When I have just "No Security (includes Cash)", a bunch of my accounts show up with negative values, even though all of these accounts actually have a positive cash balance. Anyone know what I might be doing wrong?

Try using a Portfolio Value report customized to the correct MMFs and cash. You can subtotal by Account is you want to see it that way. That seemed to work for me.

Good idea, thanks for the suggestion. Unfortunately, it's the same way. The account view in Quicken, and the account* itself, shows a positive cash balance, but the report shows a negative balance when only "No Security (includes Cash)" is included. There doesn't appear to be any way to break the results down any further than by account, so I can't see if there's some bogus security in there that's listed as "No Security" with a negative balance. I've tried validating and super validating, but to no avail.

*Upon further review, there is only one account that is actually still open showing a negative balance. All the others are either correct, or could be excluded due to being closed, so they don't matter.

I should probably also note that I'm using R59.18.

I was able to duplicate the issue but it is reporting the negative cash for No Security for a Restricted Stock Options account that has been closed in Quicken for more than 10 yrs. However, when I look at the Holdings for that account, it shows that there is a $0.00 balance for both securities and cash. Odd.

I haven't been able to troubleshoot this, yet, because I'm having some laptop issues that are significantly impacting my ability to use it. (I think it I have a bad battery that has expanded and is putting pressure on my touchpad and keyboard making them operable only intermittently. I have a new battery on order but I think I won't be able to do the troubleshooting for another 2-3 days.)

Clicking the "Investment" tab then "Portfolio" and selecting and customizing one of the "CustomXX" views also worked perfectly for me. In that one remaining Account showing up with a negative Cash position can you figure out what security(s) are being included in that line item?

Followup question— is there any way to save this as a report, so I can use this view, and the default portfolio view, without having to change the securities list each time?

A report wouldn't be dynamic, changing when the holdings change. Whereas a saved Portfolio can change every time you download into your investment accounts.

SO, if you want a record for posterity, just print it (to a PDF if you'd like). Otherwise, I wouldn't use a "report".
