feature matrix and downgrading

Quicken used to have a full, detailed feature matrix comparing all the available versions. Now all there seems to be is a thing that lets you compare Simplifi to either Premiere or Deluxe.

Does a full matrix, including the Business version exist?

I'm considering downgrading from Business to Premiere, and I'd like to know what I'm losing. I know that all of my accounts, categories, etc. will be preserved. And I've read elsewhere that I can re-upgrade to Business again, and not lose any data, as the file formats are unified. But if either of those things isn't true, I'm happy to be corrected.

I'm assuming that the separation in the sidebar between Personal & Business accounts goes away, and also some business-specific reports that I don't use (profit & loss, etc.) But I'd like to know the specifics, to see if I've simply been paying for features I don't use.

Not sure this fully answers your question but an overview of the different versions is here:

Make sure you expand View Details.

Thanks! That's definitely helpful. (Even if one is left sort of guessing how it maps onto individual reports.) Is there some series of menu choices that leads there, or is it hidden, like Quicken Starter is?

Looks to me like I was pretty much correct - if you're creating your own reports, and specifying which accounts & categories in/exclude, rather than relying on the built-in structure of what's a "business" category, then you've gained very little by paying for Business. (Though I guess it's nice to see the business accounts segregated into their own section.)

    Hello @meeotch,

The link @nmestanas provided is the best one available on our website. Are there specific features you wanted to confirm are/are not in Premier prior to downgrading?

I look forward to your reply!

Kristina - Thanks for the reply. I don't think I could completely specify which features I do or don't use without seeing a list of all the features, if that makes sense. Just an example: I check the "tax related" box on those categories I create that are tax-related, but I couldn't tell you which reports or other features that affects, since I'm not the one writing the software.

Assuming that the various flavors of Quicken (the software) are all the same codebase, with certain features en/disabled, I'd imagine that Quicken (the developer) knows better than I do which reports/features/abilities are in each version. So if a more detailed list exists internally than the one linked above, I'd love to see it.

    Thank you for your reply,

If you downgrade to Premier, the Business tab and the Rental Property tab will no longer be available. Functions associated with those tabs, such as invoices, would no longer be available. Contacts would no longer include Customer and Vendor categories. For reports, you would lose access to everything under Business and everything under Rental Property as well as the Profit and loss comparison report. You would no longer be able to create Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, and Sales Tax account types. The mileage tracker also would no longer be available.

    I hope this helps!
