Cannot access data after subscription expired

Lost access to my data after Quicken expired.
So my subscription expired october 11. I continued to manually update it ans use it.
Until today, December 9. I get an error message that says something like: "Your program was patched after your subscription expire so it will no longer run."
I search on this message and come across a Quicken page that says my data access is guaranteed. All I have to do is download the original (non-updated) version and then also download the most recent patched version prior to my subscription expiration.. Sounds ok. It says I can use the current program to check the expiration date. That doesn't work. The only think I can access is the data file selection page. But I happened to know when the expiration date was.. It also says to turn off the internet while reinstalling Quicken.
I follow the instructions but no luck. Actually it appears to display the old data for about one half of a second. Then the screen goes white.
I tried with multiple copies of the data file. Occasionally I get a message something like, this file won't work with my quicken ID. It says something like I should diconnect it from that quickenID and choose a new one. It asks if I want to do that. I say yes, And just get the white screen again.
I repeated the process multiple times, even using Windows to uninstall Quicken and manually deleting the quicken folder. (Online suggestions from Quicken). Same result.
So I had access to my expired data for a couple of weeks. There were I believe 4 program updates during that time.
I probably only accessed the data 2 or 3 times.
So why did Quicken install a program update on my expired program and then having done so shut off all access to my data because they had patched the program after the expiration date. Their so called fix to try to reinstall the last version of quicken I had while my subscription was good doesn't work.

There are no other programs I'm aware of which can read Quicken data; it's a proprietary database that no other company has tried to reverse-engineer.
However, they do still have their data access guarantee. You should contact Quicken Support because, even though your subscription has expired, they guarantee you can access your data.
You're using Quicken Windows, and I'm a Quicken Mac user, so I can't help with suggestions about what went wrong with the installation or auto-update. This thread is in the Quicken Mac section, so you might also want to copy your message, start a new thread in a Quicken Windows category of this forum, and paste the message; more of the Windows experts will see it there. (On a Mac, it's simple and straightforward to download an old version and install it, but installation on Windows has more more complexity. I know there are ways to set Windows to not auto-update, but I'm not knowledgeable enough about those things to offer advice.)

Hello @JB54,
Would you mind sharing screenshots of exactly what you are seeing when attempting to access your data?
If needed, please refer to this Community FAQ for instructions on how to attach a screenshot. Alternatively, you can also drag and drop screenshots to your response if you are not given the option to add attachments. Please remember to redact any personal information as needed.
Thanks!
