QFX import not showing correct amount

I have an investment account that I am trying to download into quicken, using the "Download QFX" feature. I configure the download to cover YTD. When I import it into my working quicken file, the value of the investment is about $12K less than what my account really has (as shown on the account webpage).

I create a new file and import just this QFX, none of my other accounts, and the amount is correct.

So why is the download into my working file wrong, but in a newly created file, it's correct? Where can I go into the old file and clean out any cache that might be there (if that is a thing)?

    Hello @Jim Mooree,

Do you have placeholders by chance? You can check by navigating to the specific account > scrolling to the bottom of the register > and seeing if there are any greyed-out transactions.

    Let me know!

    Nope. No placeholders.

    Hello @Jim Mooree,

Would you mind providing the location of your file? Also, is this a new account being added or are you attempting to add this QFX file to an existing account?

    Let me know!

Ok, not sure what the location has to do, but the QFX file is in the download folder and my active (daily use) Quicken file is in user/documents/Quicken. When I created the new quicken file, I left it where the default quicken files are created. I download / import QFX files on a monthly basis and this is the ONLY account that is screwed up, so I know its not the location of the file.

The import is to create a new account.

Have you reviewed all your imported transactions, to ensure that there are no duplicates? A transaction may have already existed in the register, the download created a duplicate (or more).

Recommend you compare your register's transactions to the brokerage's monthly statements, to find where the discrepancies are and resolve them.

Also check for situations where a stock purchase or sale did not correctly add to/subtract from the account's cash balance.

There are no duplicates. Just downloaded all the statements to go through them one by one.
