Schwab downloading duplicates in brokerage account
Hi, I am using quicken 7.10.1 on a Mac mini on Sonoma. Schwab has worked fine for me until yesterday when it sporadically download duplicate transactions on 3 different accounts. I did see that there was an issue in the past if we have more than one log on but everything has worked fine for me until yesterday. I have a log on for Schwab that allows me access to all of our accounts, and there hasn't been a problem. Has anybody else encountered this recently? Any suggestions please?
Thank you

Hello @pamela77,
To help troubleshoot this issue, please clarify if these duplicates downloading was a one-time occurrence, or if it happens repeatedly.
If it was a one-time occurrence, then I recommend following the troubleshooting from this article on duplicate transactions in Quicken for Mac:
Did you recently have to reconnect or reset those Schwab accounts? Reactivating an account has the potential to create duplicate transactions. Quicken will automatically download the most recent 90 to 200 days of transactions (depending on the financial institution), including those that have already been downloaded.
If there was a formatting change on Schwab's side, then it's also possible that the FITID changed, which could cause duplicate transactions to download (since a unique FITID would trick Quicken into thinking it's new). To check this, you can enable the FITID column by clicking the Columns button at the bottom of the register and selecting FITID.
The solution for both of these scenarios is to backup your Quicken file and delete the duplicates from your register.
If this issue with duplicates downloading is happening repeatedly, then please provide more information. Is it affecting all of your Schwab accounts, or just some? Are any accounts with other financial institutions also behaving this way? Are all transactions being duplicated, or only some? If only some transactions are being duplicated, is there any pattern to it (for instance, a specific transaction type)?
I look forward to your reply!

Thank you for responding! I just noticed it yesterday. We did a number of buys and sells and it seemed to happen randomly in all 4 accounts about 10% of the time. I have not reset or reconnected with Schwab lately. I had already deleted the duplicates before I got your response, but I did take a few pics in case they will be helpful. I have not seen this with other institutions at this time. .

Thank you for your reply,
You mentioned that it happened randomly. Does that mean it's been a recurring issue, rather than a one-time issue?
I look forward to your response!

It happened multiple times over the past 2 days in 3-4 different accounts, several times in each account.

Thank you for your reply,
So that we can further investigate this issue, please provide the following information:
- At least 3 samples of duplicate transactions that have downloaded (date, amount, payee/security).
- Screenshots of the duplicate transactions and the original transactions they are duplicating, with the FITID column visible. You can enable the FITID column by going to columns near the bottom right and selecting it.
- The names of the affected accounts, as they appear in your Quicken file and as they appear on the financial institution's website.
- Go to Help>Report a Problem and send a problem report with log files attached.
If you're not comfortable providing the requested information in this discussion, please include it in the problem report you send. There is a limit of 10 attachments per problem report; you may need to send a second one with log files deselected to make room for the screenshots.
Thank you!

Thank for your help with this, I already by deleting the duplicates before I even sent you my first email. I do have two screenshots that show a duplicate and I guess I could send those but they would not have the special number. I could take another screenshot showing the current screen with that special column in view, but you wouldn’t be able to see the special number on the one I deleted. Do I just have to wait for it to happen again then?

Thank you for your reply,
Yes. Please wait for it to happen again, then provide the requested information and problem report before deleting the duplicates. Doing so will help us narrow down what is causing this issue.
Thank you!
