Home Inventory Manager broken in Release R60.15 (Win 11)
Seems to be a topic affecting a few folks. Worked with customer support and we went back to the previous release (R59.35). Works like expected for me. Never saw anything that said this function was no longer supported. I could run QHI.exe from the file directory, and it would update Quicken (Deluxe) but Quicken would not launch Home Inventory. CS rep forwarded it on as an issue to be addressed.

Hello @EricKS,
What Quicken support told you about Home Inventory no longer being supported is correct. That information is provided in this article about installing Home Inventory:
That said, our teams did not intentionally make any changes that would prevent Home Inventory from working with the current version of Quicken. So that we can further investigate this, please navigate to Help>Report a Problem and submit a problem report with logs attached and a sanitized copy of your data file (if you're willing). While you will not receive a response through this submission, these reports will help our teams in further investigating the issue. The more problem reports we receive, the better.
We apologize for any inconvenience!
Thank you.

Seeing the same thing.
Here is what I found.
I went backwards and installed Patch 59.35M from patch 60.15M
If you go to the Tool bar on top of Quicken and click on Property & Debt Quicken Home Inventory (QHI) is there.
Then I installed patch 60.14HF QHI is missing from Property & Debt.
The QHI is also missing from Property & Debt in patch 60.15M.As @Eric said I can also QHI.exe from the file directory.
Note: Changing QHI.exe Properties to Run as Admin or make Compatible to Windows 8 did not make it work.
My thinking that when they removed the "link" to QHI.ex within the program it remove access to the program.

I concur that there is an issue with Home Inventory Manager not launching. Nothing happens when I click on the Inventory icon. I can, however, open and run the software by double clicking on the QHI file. Everything seems to be normal at that point including being able to select the GoTo Quicken option from the program. It will also update Quicken with any changes made to the inventory detail when the Update Quicken option is selected. This disconnect is a recent issue. I am running R60.15.

Since the update before R60.15, I have been getting an error telling me Quicken Home Inventory is not installed on your system. If you purchases Quicken Deluxe, run the Quicken install and select 'custom' install, and choose Quicken Home Inventory. I have had QHI installed since I started using Quicken 30 years ago and even though Quicken has dropped support for it, it still functioned up until the update before R60.15. I don't want to reinstall QHI because it IS installed, Quicken just doesn't see it. This is yet another ridiculous issue with an update. Please help.

Hello @EWagner635,
Thank you for coming to the Community to report this issue! Since there is already a discussion on this issue, I merged your post with the existing discussion.
This issue has already been sent to our teams for additional investigation and resolution. To contribute to that investigation, please navigate to Help>Report a Problem and send a problem report with the log files attached.
While you will not receive a response through this submission, these reports will help our teams in further investigating the issue. The more problem reports we receive, the better.
In the meantime, there is a work around for this issue. Since this problem is happening only in R60.14 and R60.15, you should be able to use Quicken Home Inventory Manager by backing up your file and reverting to R59.35. For instructions on how to revert to that earlier patch and the link to download that patch, please use this article:
I hope this helps!

Question and wondering.
Wouldn't going back to a previous version remove the fixes that the current fixes (R60.14 and R60.15)?
Thus, if you had an issue that the new updates fixed you end being in the same situation before the new updates.Quicken Windows Business & Personal (Subscription) - Using the latest version -Windows 11 Pro

If you create a Desktop shortcut to the QHI.exe and open Quicken Home Inventory and then try to update Quicken you get the following error.
Quicken is open to make sure it might work or not.So even though you can still use it, it will not update Quicken.
Now, when you click on QHI in Quicken Account sidebar
You will get the following error.
Backing up the QHI still works so far.

Thank you for your replies @jl747,
Yes, reverting to a previous version would also revert any of the fixes that are present in the current version.
If you weren't encountering any issues in the previous version, then it's a viable work around. If not, then the best option may be waiting for the issue to be fixed.
Thank you!

Thanks for the reply.
I was not having any issues in the previous version, so I went back to it.
Will wait for the fix.

@jl747 I've tried updating Quicken from Inventory Manager and always ended up with a corrupted datafile that Validate had to correct. This started many versions of Quicken ago.

You might have to go back to R59.35 to get QHI to work again until they fix it.

FYI - I am running Windows 11 as well and had the same issue.
I also reverted back to R59.35 to fix the issue.
One thing to note, after reverting back to that older release, I still was not able to access the home inventory until I rebooted my PC.
Once I did that, I could use Home Inventory again.
I sure hope they fix this soon as I hate to not be able to use the latest version with applicable bug fixes and new features.0 -

I'm not able to access my Home Inventory file (classic deluxe) Quicken support informed me this is not supported by Quicken and to connect with the community for some guidance. Assistance would be welcome

Others are having problems with it too, but note it would help if you call it by its official name in Quicken "Emergency Records Organizer". There was a separate program called "Home Inventory Manager" which hasn't been supported for years. The Emergency Records Organizer has a small subset of features of what the Home Inventory Manager had. Note that as you can see from this thread even the Emergency Records Organizer is a program that hasn't really been updated/supported (other than leaving it completely alone) for years:

Thank you I've reported the problem as recommended.

@Chris_QPW My understanding is that there is a program for Quicken Inventory (QHI):
"C:\Program Files (x86)\Quicken\QuickenHomeInventory.exe"and a program for Emergency Records Organizer (ERO):
"C:\Program Files (x86)\Quicken\EmergencyRecordsOrganizer.exe"The QHI and ERO still come with the Quicken program and could have icons for access in the Quicken program, even though both are no longer supported.
"Quicken Home Inventory and Emergency Records Organizer are no longer supported. You can continue to use both programs, but if you encounter an issue, Quicken Support will be unable to assist. "

@leishirsute you are correct, somehow, I missed that Home Inventory is still there, I thought everyone was just referring to the Emergency Records Organizer. Thanks for the correction.

same issue here. Several windows 10 and 11 computers. Home Inventory Manager worked fine for years. Now cannot access from Quicken. Since people have gotten it to work again by reverting to earlier version seems clear an update issue. Has anyone heard if Quicken has acknowledged this as an issue and if they plan on a fix?
