Crashes intermittently using OSU

Using Windows, Quicken Deluxe . release. I have been having issue off and on for at least 3 years. I use OSU in two steps a couple times per week, because I cannot get done if I select all accounts at once. So I update my investment accounts, then do a sepearate OSU for banks and credit cards. I have been using quicken 25 years or more. I do not use sync with the cloud, and have that checked not to sync in "go to mobile web.

Every week or so, usually when updating bank & cards, it crashes and does not complete anything. When I restart Quicken, and got to OSU, the boxes are checked for my investment accounts, like NOTHING happened. I uncheck all, select the banks and credit cards I wish to update and hit start the update. I get a box that it is syncing my BANK accounts. Funny, I recheck my settings and it is stil turned off. What is syncing and WHY?

I have called Quicken Support during the last 3 years, have validated my files, uninstalled and reinstalled quicken. even created new files from scratch, which means I lose historic data on currnt file.

Calling quicken is difficult, they always want to access my computer remotely, (which I am adverse to allowing). I feel ever since you went to the subscription based model, your product and service have been in a downward spiral. Matbe it is this new 2 step authorization that causes problems, but too many different companies do not work well with Quicken. You have no real competition that does not require selling my personal data and are often harrasing…. I rarely had issues when I was purchasing a new Quicken program evry two or three years.

Quicken has become less of a value…..

    Hello @misterconcrete,

Do you keep your data file on your computer's hard drive? To clarify, this issue only occurs when attempting to run a One Step Update with your bank accounts and investment accounts at the same time? If you run the separate types in different update cycles then this issue does not occur? Is this occurring across multiple different financial institutions? Which ones?

    Let me know!
