Investing Auto Update

While on the Investing Tab, customize the Update button to "Auto Update" every so many seconds determined by user option. For example every 30 seconds, or every 60 seconds.

I watch daily market using quicken where all my securities are managed regardless of brokerage account. I currently am updating throughout the day manual. I would like to set a value to update every 60 seconds.

Thanks!

If you go to Edit > Preferences > Investments, you can select "Automatically update quotes every 15 minutes". This may not be available in Deluxe.

Generally Quicken's quotes are delayed by 15 minutes or so, so updating much more frequently would not get you much more up to date quotes.

In Premier and up, there is a "Real time quotes" option, but it is buggy and it is not clear how much more up to date they are.

If you want up to date quotes, you should use your trading platform.

I can confirm that "Automatically update quotes every 15 minutes" is only available in Premier and above. But even then, I wouldn't recommend it because it doesn't do it in the "background" (at least that was the case the last time I tested this a few years ago). If you are working will Quicken when it decides that 15 minutes is up it will do the update, dialog and all, interrupting what you are doing. For the same reason, I wouldn't recommend implementing this feature to have it update at a faster rate.

And we can top that off with what @Jim_Harman said about the real time quotes that is available in the Premier and above editions. It will neither track what your financial institution is giving you and it also seems to mess with the prices in the wrong ways in some cases.

Quicken, whether it be investing or even your bank accounts has never been designed as "real time", and any attempt to use it that way will most likely result in problems and frustration. If you need real time, you should be using the financial institution's tools.
