Settings prompt on One Step Update
I manage 4 different Quicken files. For 3 of them, the first time I click the one step update button, the update starts immediately after I enter the password vault password but 1 of them prompts me for the OSU settings every single time. I'm guessing there's a setting that's different for the 1 that prompts me but I haven't yet found it. I'd like to skip the settings prompt if possible. What setting do I need to change?

Which settings is is prompting for? And, what download protocols (Diirect Connect, Express Web Connect, etc) are used in each of the 4 files?

There isn't any setting for this. Others have reported the same kind of behavior in their data file, but no one has ever pinned down what causes it.
Personally, I think the Quicken developers could get rid of this problem by just not ever prompting with the "One Step Update Settings". There really isn't a need for that, with the exception of the case where the user needs to provide a password (which should be pretty rare these days, since it only happens for Direct Connect accounts where the user isn't using the Password Vault).
I thought there was an Idea for this, but I couldn't find it, so I added this one:

I'm not sure what you're asking me. The One Step Update Settings dialog pops up and all of the accounts have a check mark in the box to the left of each one. I'm using the password vault so I'm not prompted for any passwords. There's a mix of direct connect and express web connect accounts. I don't change anything in the dialog. I just click "Update Now" and it proceeds. It's basically an extra click that's unnecessary 99.99% of the time. I'd like to be able to turn it off but apparently it's not a preference option. The other files also have a mix of direct connect and express web connect but I'm not prompted. If I want to change a setting, I explicitly request the dialog.

For this one data file where you have the Settings prompt appear …
- could I trouble you to capture a screen image snapshot of just the Settings view and attach it here? I'd like to see if there's something peculiar showing. You may black out the bank names, if you so desire.
- click "Apply" first, then "Update Now". Hopefully that stops future Settings prompts.
(Note however, that you will always get a Settings prompt if you run more than one OSU per Quicken session per data file)
If you haven't done so already, run both a Validate and Supervalidate on the troublesome data file.

I've tried the "Apply" & "Update Now" combo a few times with no change and, yes, I'm aware that I get prompted for settings on subsequent updates in the same session. This file is the only one that always prompts me on the first update.

Oh, and I also did a validate & super validate, closing and opening Quicken after each one and got the OSU settings dialog on the 1st update request.
