Quicken Classic vs Quicken on the Web
I've been using Classic Mac for a VERY long time and my data files are too large to sync if I want to use Web (not Simplifi). I want to set my wife up with access to all my info (bank accounts, credit cards and investments) ideally on an iPad. She is not tech savvy and has no interest in learning all the ins and outs of what I have been doing for years with Quicken on the Mac. My question is what is my best strategy to set her up on an iPad so she can continue using Quicken should I "get run over by a truck…". I "think" I can train myself to not have to use all the features of Classic and use the Web version (perhaps on my own iPad) as I'm really not using many of the power user features any longer. I assume if I had to go back and view reports on Classic based on all my historical data, I would be able to do that as long as I made a clean break of account downloads and made the transfer to Web. I haven't found a simple side by side comparison of Classic vs Web that shows the key features you would lose with Web. How have folks approached this transition issue?

Hello @kayakerlarry,
Since you want to have her set up on an iPad, her options would be Quicken on the Web or Quicken Mobile app as the Quicken Desktop program can only be installed on a computer.
For more information on what you can or can't do on Quicken on the Web vs the Desktop program, please refer to this Help Article, and this Help Article for the same info on the Quicken Mobile app.
I hope this helps!

As the help articles point out, the Web and Mobile versions are "companion" products to the desktop and are require synchronization. As syncing is apparently impossible in my case because I have been a user for so long the size of my file is too large to sync. Unfortunately, it would seem my only option is to find a brand new personal financial management tool to satisfy my needs. Good bye Quicken, it has been a good ride….perhaps the development team can add this use case to future improvements.
