Is it possible to delete years off of Quicken?
In my mothers Quicken, it is just showing transactions up to 2018. She has lost 6 years. The last thing she did was run a report for 2024. Is it possible that she accidentally deleted 6 years off of Quicken? I live in another state and tried to help her over the phone. Here's a couple things I learned. All of her bank accounts only go up to 2018. She tried running a new report for 2024 and there were no transactions for 2024. I had her search for Quicken files on her computer and there is only 1 . She does not have a back up. Any suggestions?

Yes, you can delete whole sections of transactions. In fact, if you delete transactions from some of the reports, it deletes the actual transactions in the registers.
On the File menu, there is "Find Quicken File" which will search the computer for Quicken data files (backups included), maybe it will find something recent that she could start over with.
Not sure how you are trying to assist her, but meeting programs like Skype allow you to share the screen so that you could see what she is looking at with mom in control of the mouse and keyboard.

Thanks for the info. How DO you delete whole sections of transactions? The last thing she did was run a report for 2024. How would she have accidentally deleted 5 additional years?

@Kexxa Could she have Filtered the account? Would take a LOT of intent to delete multiple years.

You select sections of registers and reports just like everything else in Windows, click on one transaction, move to another transaction and do a shift+click and the range will be selected.
