How do I setup a savings account in a different currency than Dollar?

How do I have a few of my savings bank accounts in rupees (India) and pesos (Philippines) show up in their "own" currencies instead of showing up in "Dollars"?
I set these accounts automatically, and they only show in "Dollars."

I am using Quicken Classis R60.20

Thank you

Dev

What "edition" of Quicken do you have? (Starter, Deluxe, ..)

Starter doesn't have multiple currency support.

For Deluxe or above you need to turn on Multiple currency support, and then you will be given the choice of the currency when you create a new account.

Edit → Preferences → Calendar and currency → select Multicurrency support

Using the Add Account process in the Tools Menu (or by clicking the "+" icon in the title of the Accounts Sidebar), on the first dialog screen select the "Offline Account" tab. Next click on Savings.
This dialog will have a "Currency" selection where you can pick the desired account currency.

If you have Quicken Starter Edition installed, this may not be supported.
If it isn't, you need to upgrade to the Deluxe edition or a higher feature level and enable Multicurrency support in Edit / Preferences / Calendar & Currency.

I have Quicken Classic Premier R60.20

I have already setup Edit → Preferences → Calendar and currency → select Multicurrency support

I tried two options to import transactions from my Rupee account: "Connected Account" and then "Offline Account"

    1. Option1: "Offline Account" enabled me to set currency to "Indian Rupee, but with a Balance that I got from a old statement. Then I enabled "online service" to download rest of the transactions and none of them showed.
    2. Option 2: "Connected Account" does not give me an option to change currency, so that did nto work.

Still lost on how to connect to my Rupee account and have currency show up as rupees

What financial institution holds those rupees? If it's not in the US (for Q US) or the US & Cda (for Q Cda), it's not eligible for download.

And, even if it IS in the US or Canada, the FI might not have signed the contract with Q/Intuit to become a "Participating Financial Institution".

SO, you tell us the name of the FI, and which Q product you're running, and we can look it up.

The Bank is "HDFC Bank" and it shows up in the list of "Connected Account" search.

Well, even though HDFC, an Indian bank, does appear to be a Participating Financial Institution and supports download via Express Web Connect, I don't know if I've ever heard of a download being permitted in other than USD or CAD.

After creating the account, you might try setting it's currency to Rupees before attempting to connect it.

Other than that, all that I can think of is to contact Q Support (this is a user-to-user forum) via the link at the top of this page to see if they can help.

Thanks NotACPA. I created a "sync" account and a static account and moved data from one to the other as a workaround. I will contact Q Support. Thank you for your help.
