American Express

During the daily download, I received an error to re-authorize both American Express accounts. They were linked and working. After re-authorizing, I could only ADD to Quicken, the account drop-down list did not show the existing American express accounts.

Even after re-authorizing, each update prompted to reauthorize the old accounts but then dropped days transaction’s in the new accounts.

I finely fixed this issue by deactivating the connect with the old accounts and deleting the new American Express accounts (SAME account numbers). Then I setup the old accounts and they linked.

I have a similar issue. I have two different login accounts for Amex/Amex HYSA and I want to keep them this way. Quicken keeps going in circles and deactivates the other even though they are separate. It used to work. Very frustrating!!

Yes, thank you. Amex does not recognize two different log in accounts. One I have linked to an HSYA and credit card, the other is an authorized user Amex CC. They need to be kept separate on my end. I'm not sure what has changed, but it used to work.

    Hello @RP1964,

    Thanks for letting me know.

Have you attempted to deactivate all of your accounts with American Express first before reactivating?

Yes, I deactivated them. It lets me add one, and then once the other is added, it deactivates the first. It keeps going in circles as won't allow me to have two logins as the HYSA is only associated with one, and appears to be the problem. I have no issues with two logins with Chase. As mentioned, it used to work.

ETA- It is working now. I had to deactivate all my accounts for one-step update and activate them. It seems to be working for now. Thanks for your help.
