How do I 'go to' the matching transaction for a transfer?
This topic has been raised at least a few times over the past few years, and the answer always seems to be, "You used to be able to do this in Quicken, but you can't any more." I've been using Quicken for Windows for decades, and have always been able to go to a matching transaction in a different account by right-clicking on the name of the linked account in the category window, and still can. However, I'm helping someone learn to use Quicken Premium for Windows, and this option seems to be missing in her installation (we are both current on our program updates). I've looked through all the options and don't see any setting that would account for this.
So, my question: why can I do this in my installation but she can't in hers, and how do I enable this in her installation? If this has in fact been removed from Quicken, it was a grievous error and should be reversed.
Thank you,
Terry

Ctrl-Shift-X will take you to the other side of a transfer in QWin subscription version. It was simply Ctrl-X in older versions, but that got superseded in the subscription versions. It's still there in the right-click menu.

A couple things (fan mail from some flounders😊):
1)My friend and I are both using Quicken Classic Deluxe, version R60.20, build 27.1.60.20. Mine definitely has "Go to matching transfer" in the context menu, and the shortcut is Ctrl+X, not Ctrl-Shift-X. My friend's doesn't have the context menu item. I'll have to check the shortcuts next time I see her.
2)Getting rid of the menu item and making the shortcut more complex is (IMO) not an improvement. It's the kind of thing Microsoft might do. Does just plain Ctrl+X do something different in whatever the subscription version is? If not, there wouldn't to appear to be any reason to add Shift to it.

Under EDIT, Preferences, Setup, Keyboard Mappings … I'm using "Quicken Standard" and CTRL-X still works for me.
Which makes me suspect that CTRL-Shift-X is if one is using "Windows Standard".

Thanks Not. I bet that's it. Mine is set to Quicken Standard. I'll check my friend's when I see her next,
I still use Ctrl-delete, Shift-delete, and Shift-insert for copy, cut. and paste, finding them much easier than Ctrl-X/C/V, finding the delete and insert keys easier to target than the letter keys interspersed amongst all the other letter keys. Another example (IMO) of Microsoft making things more difficult for users, not easier. The old system wasn't broken, but they insisted on 'fixing' it anyway. At least the old system still works. They often disable the old way when they make changes for the worse.

You can also right click on the specific transaction to bring up the transaction menu showing "Go to matching transfer".
BTW, I just checked with Standard Menus view selected and then with Classic Menus view selected. The transaction menus for both were identical with "Go to matching transfer" visible and functional. Just make sure the menu you are using for this is the specific transaction menu, not the account register menu.
