Register error
Windows 11, Quicken R60.20
Just reconciled credit union account. An automatic car payment shows up on statement, shows up on the calendar view but does NOT show up on the register. Adding the charge to the register manually and changing the CLR column to reconcile screws up the opening balance to the tune of $900 (for a $182 charge). If something shows up on the calendar, why would it not be on the register?

Hello @genegrubbs,
I'm sorry to hear you're encountering this problem. If the automatic car payment is showing up on the calendar, then that indicates you have a bill reminder or loan reminder set up for it. Is the reminder set up to automatically enter into your register, or do you manually enter it? If you're not certain how it's set up, you should be able to tell by going to Tools>Manage Bill & Income Reminders.
If Quicken already sees the transaction entered into the register, it'll have a green flag next to it in the Monthly Bills & Deposits tab.
If Quicken doesn't see it as entered into the register, then it should show Auto next to the clock icon if it's set to automatically enter, or it will show a status (overdue, due, upcoming, etc.) next to the clock icon if it's set to be manually entered.
To clarify, when you say that adding the charge to the register manually and setting it to reconciled messes up the opening balance, are you referring to the opening balance for that account or the balance for the reconcile? Is this account a connected account, or do you update it manually?
I look forward to your reply!
Quicken Kristina
