I have 2 brokerage accounts. There is one fund that both stocks hold. The fund only appear in one brokerage account and I cannot get it to appear in the other. Yes, I've entered and rentered the transaction.

Is there currently only one security in the problem account? If so, click on the gear at the top right and If Single Mutual Fund is set to Yes, change it to No. Then you should be able to add more securities to the account.

What screen or view in Quicken are you not seeing the fund being listed or shown? Do you have that view (or screen or report or whatever) properly customized to include that fund?

I found the problem. It resulted from Quicken automatically generating an "adjust share balance" entry. Unfortunately entry DID NOT appear in either cash or investment transaction register. I fixed it by generating another adjust share balance entry countering the automatically generated entry. It would be really nice if you could track journal entries in Quicken. "adjust share balance" is also known as a Placeholder … and you can make them visible in the account via EDIT, Preferences, Investments and checking "Show Hidden Transactions".

They're created by Q when the downloading (from your FI) holding of a security doesn't match what's recorded in Q. Once you correct, in your register, the discrepancy you can delete that Placeholder transaction.

You can't delete a placeholder entry if it doesn't appear on the register. Understand why Quicken might generate such an entry, but not why it "hides" them, which violates every bookkeeping rule I know.

To make Placeholders visible, go to Edit > Preferences > Investments and check the Show hidden transactions box. The account must be in Complete tracking mode to see the transaction list.

Were the Placeholders hidden in your file? How long ago did you create this file? Starting about 5 years ago, the Show hidden transactions box is supposed to be checked by default for new files.
