Use Bill and Income Reminders to create a new budget

Quicken Windows Other Member

Can I use my Bill and Income reminders to automatically set up a new budget. If so can someone please tell me how to do it. (the B&I function is amazingly useful and it would be great to turn it into a new budget, where I can add other anticipated expenditures like projected living expenses, travel expenses etc. that don't have pre-determined amounts).

Thanks

    Hello @ps902,

    Thank you for reaching out!

When creating a new budget in Quicken, there isn’t an option to directly import reminders into the budget. Instead, budgets are set up based on selected categories. During the budget creation process, Quicken will prompt you to either manually select categories or allow Quicken to automatically choose categories based on your regular income and expense patterns (see screenshot below).

Additionally, once your budget has been created, you can navigate to Budget Actions > View options and select Include reminders (see example below).

That said, the categories linked to your Bill Reminders will flow into the budget calculations if they are properly configured. To ensure this, verify that the categories assigned to your Bill Reminders are also selected to be included in the budget. This will allow the reminders to be factored into your budget accurately.

    I hope this helps!

    I have two related questions:

I have been using Quicken for decades for personal and investment transactions.

My accountant uses QuickBooks for strictly investments and tax preparations.

    1. Starting in this January I decided to prepare budget using Quicken. Being my first time it has been very burdensome. First question, are their firms that I can hire to take my computer too and work with them to prepare my first 2025 budget? I live in Birmingham, AL.
    2. Second question, since I have an accountant that maintains QuickBooks, my preferred option is to transfer my years of data from Quicken to QuickBooks and have accountant which maintains the largest part of my income and expenses to handle all transactions. , Is there a way to capture all my Quicken data to transfer to QuickBooks.

    Thanks
