Business Invoices Not Connecting to Data

Quicken Windows Subscription Member ✭✭

I used the invoicing last year and have three templates set up, well one being an estimate, and customer data from individuals. Sometime since between a few days after Christmas when I last made an invoice to now, Quicken has broken it's connection to the data in my file. One invoice template name is gone and is just called "default" with none of my customizations, the other has some (as in no shipping) but that is it. May business name etc. is all gone. When I click on a customer, no data is populated onto the form. Previously, the first line had an item that I use in the actual invoice and that does not appear. The data IS in the customer sections and the templates are complete and full in the invoice designer so something is not communicating with the database or however it is handled.

I did fill do a "report a problem" but could not send a screenshot since in the invoice screen, you cannot interact with anything but that popup.

    Hello @ScottT18,

I can see why this would be upsetting. I tried to replicate the issue you described in my Quicken, but wasn't able to replicate it. That makes me suspect this may be a file specific issue. To start troubleshooting this, I suggest that you try validating and/or super validating your data file.  Please save a backup file prior to performing these steps.

    Validate:

    1. File
    2. Validate and Repair File...
    3. Validate File
    4. Click OK
    5. Close the Data Log
    6. Close Quicken (leave it closed for at least 5 secs)
    7. Reopen Quicken and see if the issue persists.

If the issue persists, proceed to Super Validate. If the issue is resolved after performing validation, then please disregard the instructions to Super Validate.

    Super Validate:

    1. File
    2. Hold CTRL + Shift and click Validate and Repair File...
    3. Super Validate File
    4. Click OK
    5. Close the Data Log
    6. Close Quicken (leave it closed for at least 5 secs)
    7. Reopen Quicken and see if the issue persists.

Please let me know how it goes!

Ok I'll try the Super Validate. I did do a validate and repair yesterday and there were some transaction errors but the problem remained.

Super Validate did not help. Further, I created a NEW layout, which shows up in my invoice list now with the business address I added, but customer still does not populate. I created a brand new customer to and that also did not populate. In the invoice designer, my previous used invoices still are visible but only one appears in the New Invoice drop down. Even then it does not actually have my information on it, it just removes the "ship to" box.

Did a full uninstall of the application and install, reopening my file which resolved the issue!

    Thank you for the follow-up,

I'm glad to hear that a full uninstall and reinstall of Quicken resolved the issue. Also, thank you for coming back to share the resolution!
