Tags in a split transaction not showing up in report looking for a specific tag

Hi, I have been using Quicken for many years now and keep hitting a wall when trying to figure out why this happens. If I have a single item (no split) transaction with a specific tag, say ABC, when I run a report by Itemized Payee, then filter to a specific tag, ABC, only the transactions with single lines (no split) show up on the report. Even split transactions, with 2 line items both tagging ABC, do not show up in the report and the total per payee is wrong due to these missing tagged transactions. The same thing happens if one item is tagged ABC but the 2nd is not. Please help. This is frustrating and the only work around right now is to run a report on every Payee individually, filtering with the tag "ABC". Running Windows 11 with Quicken Classic Deluxe subscription. Thanks

    Hello @Littlegiant,

Thank you for bringing this to our attention! I tested in my Quicken and see the same behavior that you described. I forwarded this issue to the proper channels for further investigation and resolution. If you haven't already done so, please navigate to Help>Report a Problem and send a problem report with log files attached. While you will not receive a response through this submission, these reports will help our teams in further investigating the issue. The more problem reports we receive, the better.

In the meantime, depending on what data you need to see, maybe using the Itemized Tags report would be a decent workaround? When I tested, that report does see the tag, even when it's part of a split transaction, and you can see the Payee in the Description column of the report.

    We apologize for any inconvenience!

    Thank you.

THanks Kristina. I tried the workaround but could not figure out how to sort them by Payee since I do need to total up the tags by payee. I shall look a little more but if you have a suggestion on how to have an itemized total per tag by payee that would be great! Thanks again

    Thank you for your reply,

The Description column in the report seems to correspond to the Payee column in the transactions. Based on that, I would expect that clicking on the Description column should sort it by Payee (although it'll still be divided into Income, Expenses, and Transfers).

    I hope this helps!

    Hello @Littlegiant,

The team working on the issue provided a solution. Click the gear icon near the upper right of the report to customize it. On the Details tab, there should be a "Show splits" checkbox.

Make sure to check that box, then click OK.

If you don't see the option, then navigate to Help>Check for Updates and update to the current version of Quicken if needed.

Once the Show splits option is selected, you should be able to see the split transactions reflecting in the report. The screenshot below is a sample of how the split transactions will appear.

Please let me know how it goes!
