TreasuryDirect

Why is TreasuryDirect still not working/supported? Even though it appears in list of financial institutions?

Hello @DPW-CT,
Thank you for letting us know you're encountering an issue! To better assist, please provide more information what is happening. It looks like you already have the account connected. What is happening when you try to update? Are you seeing any error messages/codes?
I look forward to your response!

Thank you for your reply,
I just tested by adding my recently created account to Quicken for Mac. It does see my bonds, although the information is sent over as cash balance. Since TreasuryDirect supports simple tracking only, transactions aren't available.
I will need to wait for a recently purchased bond to post before I'd be able to see if it successfully updates in Quicken, now that the account is added.
What kind of TreasuryDirect holdings are you tracking in Quicken for Mac? Did it pull in the initial information successfully when you added the account? Was it previously updating successfully? What kind of information is it failing to pull in?
Thank you!

Thank you for your reply,
I'm glad to hear that adding it as a new account got it to work. I updated mine and saw that it did successfully pull in the updated amount. Unfortunately, it does see the bonds as cash. I selected Help>View Logs in Finder, and checked the HTTP log.
The HTTP log shows that the bond amount is being sent to Quicken as a cash balance. It isn't providing any additional information, like what kind of bond was purchased or how many are owned (although you may be able to infer how many are owned by the number of transactions).
You would be able to track bonds manually. For information on recording bond purchases, please see this help article:
If it is a bond where you need to record the increasing value before it's redeemed, then this earlier post on the Community may help (it's talking about I bonds specifically):
It is in the Windows section of the forum. To translate to the menu options in Mac, you can add an offline account by going to Accounts>Add Account…. You can access the Security List by going to Window>Securities.
I hope this helps!
