Really Wanted to Like Quicken

Quicken Windows Subscription Member ✭✭

I tried to like Quicken but it is simply not worth the money. Every time I open it there is a new issue. For some reason quicken stopped downloading transaction from my bank today. It's been doing it for the past 8 months and magically today it stopped. One step update doesn't even have the option to download from the bank anymore. Its like the option disappeared. Googling didn't even return relevant answers.

I tried to searching for other personal management software but people say quicken is the best. Its unusable for me…

Edit. I don't even like the website that hosts the forums. Took me way to long to figure out how to edit a post. I delved into the bowels of the settings and found that ALL of my accounts has the transactions turned off. Is this expected functionality???!!! I mean Quicken did this randomly. How does anyone use this software? I can't even delete my post now because these forums don't allow it. Weird….

Curious, how long did you use Quicken?

By chance, you didn't happen to make a copy of your file using Quicken's File→Copy File and use it, did you?

That would explain why all of the accounts setup for downloading are no longer activated.

-splasher using Q continuously since 1996
    - Subscription Quicken - Win11 and QW2013 - Win11

ithinkimadeamistake - Have you decided on a replacement yet?

@ithinkimadeamistake You say that Q won't download from your bank. What bank?

And, unless you're getting an error of some sort (which you didn't mention) it's the banks, not Q, that decide whether to allow download and the types of accounts that can download. It's entirely possible that your bank decided to drop Q.

Based on the screenshot, @ithinkimadeamistake posted none of the accounts are setup for downloading. As such I think @splasher is correct in that @ithinkimadeamistake made a copy of their data file and as such all online services were deactivated in that data file and need to be setup again or do back to the original data file that is probably still connected for downloading of transactions.
