Transaction Reports - View - Columns - No Choice for "Clients" (Q Mac)

Quicken Mac Subscription Member ✭✭

I am Treasure of a 25 lot HOA. Trying to use MAC Quicken Classic Business & Personal (Version 8.0.1) to do the books. I set up each home owner as Clients. Made January's annual entry deposits into checking account picking each client.

Tried to run different Transaction reports on checking account but I can not select Clients as a Column. Only Payee which does not show the Client name for the deposit.

IE: Transaction Reports - View - Columns - No Choice for "Clients" only Payee

Also so far I haven't found a report specific to Client information.

    Hello @FredRVet,

    It sounds like you're trying to track homeowner payments using the "Clients" feature, but Quicken’s transaction reports are not allowing you to display clients as a column. Have you checked whether there is a different type of report, such as a customer-specific report, that might provide the information you need? When you enter deposits, does Quicken allow you to associate the payment with both a client and a payee, or does it automatically default to payee-only?

    Since you’re unable to select "Clients" as a column, have you tried using tags, memos, or categories to differentiate homeowner payments? If so, do any of these fields appear in transaction reports? Have you explored whether filtering by client within a different report might give you better visibility?

    Let me know!

    Thanks Jasmin for the quick answer. The HOA owners all paid their Annual Assessment payment on January 1st +/- for 2025 and I was not the Treasure until a couple weeks ago. Since the previous Treasure(s) only used an excel spread sheet that is very hard to follow. I wanted to get a better P&L for the 2024 Income Tax preparation so that's why I'm converting to Quicken. I have used Quicken, QuickBooks and TurboTax for several years.

    So, I set up a HOA Quicken file and downloaded all of the historical 2024 and 2025 Transaction from the bank. I set up all of the HOA Members as Clients and after editing the downloaded bank transactions. Since the Bank downloaded deposit for January 2025 were three total deposits made up from 5 or more Member checks per deposit I used the Split function on the entry. It did allow me to pick from the Client List so it does show their payments in each individual Client File.

    The 2024 Downloaded Transaction showed 25 separate deposits for the 25 members. So it was easier entering each one separately picking the correct name from the Client list. However the Transaction Report say by Catagorey Only shows the Payee as "Deposit" and you can not add "Client" to the report. ie: Transaction Reports - View - Columns - No Choice for "Clients"

    I haven't tried your suggestions yet but I'll try some different approaches. Maybe I can create 25 Invoices for each one for just the 2025 payments and re-enter them and see how that works.

    Thanks again for taking the time to answer my questions. Hopefully Mac Quicken will catch up withe the features in the Windows Quicken in the near future.

    On another thread Quicken Vitoria posted this in response to my question:

    Hello

    @FredRVet

    . The Business and Client columns will be available in the business Transactions reports later this week. In a few days, use Check for Updates (located under the Quicken menu) to update your Quicken Mac to the latest version.
