OSU 2FA error > Authentication code sending to wrong mobile number

Win 11 R61.17

When doing a OSU my bank prompts for a mobile phone number for 2FA. I can choose my phone number or my spouses' phone number in a dropdown. When I choose my phone number, the 6-digit code is sent to my spouses' phone, not mine. I can login on the bank website using my phone number for 2FA, so clearly this is a Quicken error. How do I fix this?

    Hello @Jeff Hendrickson,

Thank you for letting us know you're running into this problem. Which financial institution is this happening with? You mentioned that it shows both numbers. Does it send to your spouses' phone regardless of which number you pick? Is this happening with a joint account? If so, did you use your login or your spouses' login when connecting the account in Quicken? When did you first notice this issue? Was the account previously connected and working properly?

I look forward to your response!

Bank of Texas. Sends to spouse's number when I select my number. Haven't tried selecting spouse's number. Joint account. My login. Started last week, previous Q version, continues this week with new Q version. Worked correctly for years.

    Thank you for your reply,

To check if anything specific to your Quicken file is causing this issue, I recommend creating a new "test" file, and connecting your Bank of Texas account in that file to see if the behavior persists.

It is recommended to save a backup before creating the test file. Below are instructions on how to create a test file:

    1. Choose File menu > New Quicken File.
    2. Select New Quicken File
    3. Click OK
    4. In the File name field, enter the name of the new file, then click Save. Use a name like "Test File" to tell it apart from your main file. Avoid using any of these characters: * ? < > | " : \ / (asterisk, question mark, left and right-angle bracket, pipe, straight quotation marks, colon, BACKSLASH, FORWARD SLASH). Also, don't add the .qdf extension; Quicken does that for you.
    5. Select to not use Mobile.
    6. Click Add Account to start adding accounts to the new file.

After adding the problem account(s), test to see if the issue happens in the test file.

Once you are done in the test file, you can switch back to your main file by following the directions in this article (How to alternate between multiple files section).

Please let me know what happens in the test file!
