What files to save?

Using Quicken Classic Deluxe, Version R61.17, Build 27.1.61.17. Windows 10 64-bit

I only use Quicken for the most basic aspects. Bank accounts and credit card accounts. Don't use mortgage data, download anything from anywhere. Yes, I tried that in the past, and found it took more time for me to fix entries than it does for me to manually enter the data.

The only question I have is that it appears I only need to keep a couple of current files that are either QDF or QDF-backup. It appears I can delete dat, synch or anything else. Is this correct, or am I missing something?

In addition to files kept on my C drive, I also store at least two recent copies on One Drive. Thanks for any help.

    Hello @chrystinp,

There aren't any Help or Support articles that specify which files you can safely delete. Based on earlier discussions on the topic of what files are safe to delete, it looks like Super Users say that it's safe to delete .DAT files, since Quicken will recreate those files as needed:

When it comes to deleting backups, that's more subjective. In general, as long as you have the backups you need to recover your data if needed, then it's okay to delete the backups you no longer need.

    I hope this helps!
