Data Recovery (Q Mac)

Quicken Mac Subscription Member

In trying to add a new account that would not connect, I tried to follow a previous community help suggestion and “started over,” thereby losing all of my data from my Mac laptop. Can my data be recovered?

Please describe what you mean by "started over" and what you did to accomplish that.

If you still have your old laptop, or a backup of your old laptop, you could copy your Quicken file over to your new Mac. If you no longer have the old Mac or any backups of it, then your old data is mostly gone. (Unless you are using the new Online Backup service but I'm assuming you wouldn't be asking this question if that were the case.) If you reconnect the your account you'll get whatever account history your bank feels like sending, which will likely be just the last 3 months or so.

Since there is no mention of moving to a new Mac, I was assuming you're still on the same computer. When you started over, did you just create a new Quicken file? If so, the automatic backups from your old Quicken file should still be on your Mac. But we do need you to tell us more about what you did to help guide you to a successful resolution.
