Wow Duplicate entries going back to 2020 to 2021

See Discussion by Dave Hutchison dated Jan 12 and edited Feb 12. Title: "Wow Duplicate entries not cleared going back to 2020 and 2021 on latest update (Quicken 1/12/2025)."
Dave did you get a satisfactory answer to your question? I seem to have a similar problem (with no explanation from Quicken phone support.).
All of the duplicate entries can be found between 2/19/2020 and 1/20/2022. Most of the dups are cleared, but a few are NOT cleared. I have the latest Quicken update. My problem was first seen on 3/12/2025. In the morning one checking account had a balance of ~$3,000; in the afternoon the balance was ~-$120,000!

Hello @Phillip,
We appreciate you taking the time to bring this issue to our attention!
Before we begin troubleshooting, please provide the following details:
- Where is your Quicken data file stored? Is it on your local hard drive (C: Drive) or a cloud-based/external drive (e.g.: OneDrive, DropBox, USB, etc.)?
- Have you attempted any troubleshooting steps so far? If so, what were they?
Check back and let us know!

@Phillip, Also, is this happening in one account, or multiple? One financial institution, or multiple?
Have you recently disconnected and re-connected any of the impacted accounts? Have you changed the download method for them (say, from Direct Connect to Express Web Connect(+))?

- All Quicken data is stored on my local laptop - C drive.
- I've continued to try backups and restores. Long story.
- I'm beginning to suspect the Synchronization of MYQuicken with the CloudQuicken. I observed similar behavior to that described above. I saw my $3,000 account balance "grow" to ~-$250,000! Since I don't understand this sync program (and WHAT initiates it), I'm going to stop using Quicken On-line backup for the foreseeable future.

- This happens in a bunch of accounts. I DO NOT use downloads from financial institutions. All of my data is input manually. (I'm also a former user of the Quicken DOS product back in the day.)

- Thanks for the original post by Dave Hutchison. I think we've both been bitten by the same bug(?).
Thanks for everyone's help.

I see duplicate transaction downloaded on several different accounts on an ongoing basis. Seems to be more prevalent in Chase accounts. Sounds like a varition of this same bug.

@Phillip Such issues have been sporadically reported by Q Cloud users. I'd suggest not using that.

Hi NotACPA,
I do not use Q Cloud. Still observing the same problem. When I add a new CC account, Sync runs and when it's done I have a BUNCH of duplicate, triplicate, etc transactions. The total negative balance in the checking account that I monitor, grows by about ~-$125,000, each time! NOT acceptable!
